Statement of Eligibility vs. Full Teaching License?
- If a teacher candidate chooses to complete the student teaching-internship, he/she can apply for a full Collegiate Professional License once student teaching is completed.

- In the State of Virginia, teacher candidates also have the option of obtaining a job in lieu of student teaching/internship. Teacher candidates who choose to apply for jobs rather than student teaching might want to apply for a Statement of Eligibility from the State or Virginia. This Statement of Eligibility may help when trying to seek full time employment. The statement verifies that the teacher candidate has fully completed all licensure requirements (to include all licensure coursework (with final grades), all testing requirements, all general education requirements, except for the internship.
