Library

The GMU Libraries now offer an instant message research service (b r buddy) that allows students, faculty, and staff to ask questions and be helped at their home, a computer lab, or their office. This service is available on the Libraries website under the "Help with Research" heading (look for the "iMason Libraries" link).

By using this service, members of the university community will receive rapid help with selecting an appropriate database to search, getting the best possible search results from a database, or finding a quick fact or other piece of information. This service allows library staff to engage in a highly interactive process of "co-browsing" web sites and database pages with students and faculty to identify quality information resources--and students and faculty can receive this help from any location.

This service is available during the following hours:
Monday through Thursday:  9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Saturday and Sunday:  1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Anyone using b r buddy needs an IM account.  If you do not have one, use the iMasonLibraries Chatterbox found on the b r buddy site. When you are finished chatting, disconnect by closing your browser or click on the green button in the upper right corner of the iMasonLibraries Chatterbox. If / when iMasonLibraries is offline,
