We have been preparing educators to teach in international environments since 1990 and continue to offer high quality, convenient, and experience-driven graduate education to our students. In an increasingly interconnected and global world, individuals require global competencies, transnational backgrounds, and international work experiences. In 1990, to address this need among Virginia residents, the Virginia Department of Education entered into a unique partnership with George Mason University and the U.S. Department of State. This initiative – called FAST TRAIN Programs – sought to provide teacher education and VA State teaching licensure to individuals working in K-12 international schools overseas
FAST TRAIN Programs continues to recruit and retain highly qualified and internationally minded faculty to instruct our students. Many of our instructors have taught or continue to teach in international schools across the world. They bring their extensive K-12 teaching experience to the graduate classroom, providing practical and theoretical frameworks for student learning and discussion.
